GSM Goes to Knoxville, TN!
This Sunday, July 16th, thirteen students and four leaders will set out for Knoxville, Tennessee to serve with NextStep Ministries. We can’t wait to see them grow in their faith, work hard on the worksites, and learn more about God's calling in their lives!
The cool thing about NextStep Ministries is that it isn’t your typical short-term mission trip organization. Rather, NextStep partners with local mission organizations over the course of multiple years to build sustainable Kingdom change wherever they go. We love the combination of seeing students grow and change while also seeing important and lasting work happening in the cities we visit.
What does this have to do with the church as a whole? Well, two things. First of all, we want you to know that we are a church who lives into our three core values from day one — from packing diapers for Hope Clinic in GraceKids to mission trips in Grace Student Ministries to service opportunities for everyone. We hope our students inspire you to live on mission this summer too.
Secondly, we would love for you to be praying for our students as they serve the homeless in Knoxville, Tennessee. Below are some specific ways your can be praying for our GSM team this week.

- Pray for the flexibility of the mission team as they adjust to unexpected challenges.
- Pray that godly friendships will be formed and strengthened this week.
- Pray for the Spirit to open blind eyes and that unbelievers will encounter Christ’s love.
- Pray that any student who does not know Jesus will hear His faithful, persistent call this week.
- Pray that the whole team will share in the desire to become more like Jesus.
- Pray that the mission team will not let the earthly work take the place of the spiritual mission.
- Pray that the students will leave this trip eager to live out their faith at home, at school, and in our city.
