Ephesians 1
Pastor Zach Stamp encouraged us to read through the book of Ephesians this week as a response to his message on the sacred way of scripture. So after you have read Ephesians 1 this morning, take a minute to prayerfully reflect on one or two of the questions below. Let your answers influence the choices you make today in your relationships, work, and personal habits.
- Paul begins his letter to the Ephesians with an overflowing of praise. Do any of the qualities of God mentioned stand out to you? Are they something you’ve experienced, or something you find yourself longing to experience? Ask God to open your eyes to see more of that aspect of who he is.
- Paul ends this first chapter with prayers for the Christians in Ephesus. Who has God brought into your life that needs prayer? Take a few minutes to pray for them by name, and watch for opportunities to be an answer to prayer this week.
- Paul talks about the incomparable power of God. Have you ever experienced that power? Have you ever been freed from addiction, seen a relationship restored, or had an experience you know was because of God working through you or for you? Let your heart remember God is working in ways we cannot control, but get to be a part of.
