Happy Thanksgiving
Dear Grace family,
HAPPY THANKSGIVING
By now, you have probably stuffed yourself silly with turkey, green bean casserole, pumpkin pie and so much more. For some of us, it's about time to go back for round 2 or maybe even 3. Before the tryptophan kicks in and you take a nap, I wanted to say "happy thanksgiving" and remind you of a couple upcoming events.
SILENT NIGHT: service of grief and hope
The Christmas season is typically a season of joy and hope and fun, but for those that are dealing with loss it can be a difficult season. We've all experienced loss and change over the past couple years, and we want create a space to process through these emotions as we enter into the Christmas season. This service is designed to create a space to grieve, reflect, and pray. Through creative music, readings, prayer, and a short message, we will explore how the hope of Christ can meet us in the midst of hard times. December 5th, 5:00pm. Childcare will be available for kids ages 10 and under.
HESED CHRISTMAS STORE:
Hesed church is one of our missional partners that is committed to loving the people in the Brightmoor community in the name of Jesus Christ. One way in which they serve and support their local community is through the "Pride for Parents Christmas store." The purpose of this pop-up store is to empower parents to be able to shop for Christmas gifts for their children at a significantly reduced price and enjoy this tradition of gift-giving as a family that we all have grown accustomed too. This year, Grace will be teaming up with Hesed Church, to host their 3rd Annual “Pride for Parents Christmas Store on Saturday, December 18th, from 12:00-4:00 PM.
Grace has the opportunity to help support this mission initiative in two key ways.
ADVENT SERIES: begins this Sunday.
This Sunday, we are kicking off our advent series called, "Unto us a child is born." Over the next 4 weeks, we're going to be looking at the intersection of Isaiah 9 and the incarnation. His name will be called, "wonderful counselor, mighty God, everlasting father and prince of peace." Join us at either our 9:30 or 11:00 am service. If you are traveling or unable to make it in person, please join us online. Click HERE to watch our online service.
Have a blessed week and I look forward to seeing you Sunday morning.

- We play a vital role by purchasing the items to stock the store with Christmas gift merchandise. Hesed has created a couple "gift lists" that you may use to purchase items for the store. Click HERE for the amazon list. Click HERE for the walmart list. All items purchased through these lists will be delivered directly to Hesed. If you prefer to do your shopping in person, you can select an item off of the "Hesed Christmas Tree" in Grace Canton's lounge, purchase that item (or similar item) and return it to the church no later than Dec. 12th. Remember to bring these gifts unwrapped.
- Volunteers are needed to help serve in a variety ways. You can help set up the store on the evening of Friday, December 17th, or help run the store on Saturday, December 18th. Sign up to work a shift HERE.
