This week we’re finishing our “Road Trip” message series, wrapping up with the topic “The End of the Road.” Our passage is from Acts chapter 20, and the apostle Paul is speaking to the Elders from the church at Ephesus. Paul is reflecting because knows he is approaching the end of his own road.
As we read part of this passage together, ask God to show you what He has for you in the scriptures here. We’re starting in verse 22:
And now, behold, I am going to Jerusalem, constrained by the Spirit, not knowing what will happen to me there, except that the Holy Spirit testifies to me in every city that imprisonment and afflictions await me. But I do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God. Acts 20:22-24
As you re-read today’s passage, consider: what “course” or “race” do you think God has given you to finish in this life? And as you reflect on your current stage of life, as Paul is, what do you think God is teaching you or wanting you to understand?
